Has anybody done detail analysis on differences between MS 2007 and MS 2010 Excel documents? I was working in MS 2007 on my project work since last two years and all of a sudden the system got crashed. Luckily I got a spare laptop of any colleague but it runs MS excel 2010. Now, I have a dilemma whether or not to edit my document in MS Excel 2010 as the original document was created in MS Excel. My fear is that due to incompatibility if l lose any data I will not be able to detect it because the data size is already very huge. It has loaded data for more than 5 days and hundreds of graphs. Can anybody clarify mu doubt? Please give enough reason either to continue or not to. My computer will be available only after a week.

This is the scenario. I have a Excel document with nearly 30 sheets. Each sheet belongs to a customer and the data is readable by customer. I am maintaining data of all customers in same Microsoft Excel document. Whenever the customer asks data, I copy his/her sheet into a new document and send it to them. But, sometimes I do mistakes and sometimes it feels annoying. Isn’t there a way to password protect individual sheets with individual password so that I can send full document to them, but still they will be able to see only there sheet. I will share th passwords with the customers respectively. Thank you for your kind support.

I have done a lot of calculators for engineers by referring to many books. Now, I want to share it with as many as students as possible. I want to protect the contents so that the students should only be able to see the results but not modify the formulas. I know documents can be password protected. Can documents can be made read only? If yes, will the student be still able to enter data into relevant variables and get result? If yes, please share your thoughts on setting a read only, yet, able to enter values MSExcel document. Your quick response is greatly appreciated

i am exploring features of Excel document properties one step at a time. I know a teacher who wants to teach kids about spellings. So I got an idea. Kids have to clearly type the letters. For example, it is computer, after typing it correctly, apple figure has to appear. I was asked about this and I said yes I can. I just wanted to help him but here playing video and loading images based on a spelling looks impossible to me. I read couple of posts buy all are explained in very high level. Cam someone help me in making image appear in excel after correct spelling in one of the cell? Also, please share details specifically on inserting videos.

I am working in a company and recently I was assigned to verify parcels and logistics. I work in mail room. My job involves reading the cells in the Excel document and comparing that with all th mail room goods and if it matches, have to hand it over to concerned departments. I feel, it will be easy to take print out in hand and verify the contents. But I tried printing it but it printed full document which is several pages. I will be in need typically a few cells which can be printed in one sheet. Please show the way to print only selected cells in Excel. Or also any alternate methods to perform the task.

Hi all, I have designed a nice time table in excel but while sending it online to my sister, it is losing the alignment and the table breaks. I thought of converting it to pdf online but the pdf report comes with the watermark. I am unhappy about this. Is is possible to convert one or more sheet in excel to pdf so that the formatting will never go off the sheet? I need to create pdf of only the area where I have entered my time table data? Another question is can I create editable pdf from excel so that my sister can make several copies and update her plan by herself rather than me doing it every time?

My requirement is to add colours to the cells in Microsoft office excel, 2007 version, depending on the data entered by the user. I was asked by my colleague to get software for his calculations where after verifying several parameters he comes to a conclusion. Now he needs to evaluate using calculators but takes more time. I know the capabilities of Microsoft office are huge. Can anybody show some sample code or do it yourself pictures on how to change color of a cell based on values present in other cells but in the same page.

The power of MS office is endless but my limited knowledge on the Microsoft Excel is costing mow. I have a very important and urgent assignment to complete but all my time is being drained in searching for answers. For the solution I need, most of the users say t go VBA programming. I do not know ABCs of VBA programming. Can anybody please help in me getting started with VBA programming. Sample of one of the task I need to do is copy a section of one sheet on same sheet to another section in different sheet. I would appreciate if anybody can depict VBA programming with simple example to get started with. Please reply soon.

I have been using MSword for quite a while but never MSExcel. I am very new to MSExcel, equations and functions. I could learn only to add cells, do mathematical operations on different cells and some other functions. Coming to the point, I have to copy so many cells from one sheet to other. Problem is that the rows and columns should be changeable and whatever changes happen on one sheet should automatically in other. Since, the number of rows and columns are countless; I don’t think the manual assignments of cell will not work? Any expertise on this topic? Kindly share the code or sample document if possible.

Is it possible to just scan either an Excel spreadsheet or a Word document for viruses? I do online work and recently I updated a spreadsheet, and when I sent it to the next person, she said it had a virus. I think the person that sent it to me sent it with a virus.  Can I scan and clean a spreadsheet? If so, how? Thanks.
