Manual for Adobe Flash CS3 Games Source Codes

I would suggest getting comfortable with just adobe flash first.

Making simple animations and getting used with key frames as well as utilizing the bone tool, would really help you in creating characters, levels, and doing animation.

Now, to put things all together…

I highly recommend this book: ActionScript 3.0 Game Programming University (2nd Edition)

This book has all kinds of games, simple games to say the least…

From making a basic framework such as a matching game to making iPhone games.
