Cannot install software on windows

i just installed windows 7 and i can not install software that worked on windows 98, vista and XP , either from an installation cd or from a hard drive. When i run the stup.exe the pc turns for a while, and then nothing happens, no error message and no installation. 

can any one tell me what to do?? thanks a lot!

Hello there Arnel!

I think there is an software issue with your program with windows 7. Is it compatible to run in Windows 7?
If it does , what architecture is needed? 32-bit or 64-bit operating system? Basically you can't run 64-bit programs in a 32-bit operating system. Meanwhile you can run 32-bit programs in a 64-bit operating system. My other suggestion is that maybe your installer is corrupted that is why it isn't running.

Also check your anti-virus and see if it blocks installation. Some anti-virus programs blocks installation of such programs because of threats and incompatibility. I hope i have given you some insights on what to do. Just post your comments here and see what can i do about it.
