Error while starting with Outlook

Hello experts,

I need your help. Please.

I am totally a beginner to use outlook. Yesterday, when I started outlook to send a few important mails to my cousins, I was totally shocked to find an error on my screen. Here is the message:

Task ' server name – Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800ccc0f): 'The connection to the server was interrupted. If this problem continues, contact the server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP)"

Also, I cannot access any PST file and also cannot send mails. What is the reason? I can't make out. Moreover, I have no idea to start scanpst.exe tool.

So, please help me to solve this.

It occurs may be internet connectivity problems and incorrectly outlook account settings. So at first try to make sure that you are connected with Internet and set your outlook account correctly. If this done then try the following.

Sometimes it occurs antivirus problem. Which antivirus you are using? Try to turn off your antivirus. I think it will help you.

Greetings,

The error you are getting in Outlook could be for a couple of issues.

1. There could be an issue with your internet connection.

2. There could be an issue with your email server itself.

3. The email server could have changed, so you may need new settings for incoming and outgoing port settings in Outlook. (You will need to research if anything has changed with your email service provider.)

You can edit your email options by going to preferences and choosing accounts and then click account you are wanting to edit and make changes.

The reason your .pst is missing and that Outlook can not find it could be.

1. Because you accidentally deleted it.

2. Moved it to a different location. Different folder.

If you can find your .pst file, if you have Windows do a search for your outlook.pst file, you will need to go into Outlook to edit email options and make sure Outlook is looking in the right folder for your .pst file.

If you somehow deleted it on accident you will have to create an account from scratch in Outlook.

Hi,

Did you try to add any other e-mail. account such as( y mail, G mail,) to the outlook. Try and see once that you will be able to send mails.

Otherwise try this

Click File – Account settings – click the Account that you want to prompt Select change and select more settings go to the security tab and finally select the check box to (Always prompt for log on credentials)

If the first way failed the second way will help you.

Hi Dawn,

you don't need to worry about this issue. This is the most common issue faced while using Microsoft outlook. You will get this error message when you are having internet connectivity issues.

It might be possible that your account is not configured properly. But that is a very rare issue. Kindly make sure that you are connected to the internet and then start your outlook. This issue will be resolved.
