Photoshop Elements Uninstalls instead of Install

Hi,

I’m trying to install Photoshop elements 10. Instead of installing, the setup is showing uninstalling, and then ending up with an error message that the specified path is empty. When I checked the registry, I could see some of them are related to Photoshop elements.

Please help me to find a solution to this problem.

Dear,

It seems that your computer previously had Photoshop elements installed. To install the software properly you need to uninstall all the previous contents. Using control panel you can easily uninstall the software. Go to Start menu then control panel. Select uninstall a program. Then uninstall Photoshop components. Note that you better use complete uninstall option.

If still any components of Photoshop remain on your computer then go to C drive. In program file you will get a folder of Photoshop. Then delete all the components of the Photoshop folder. After this process you can install the Photoshop elements properly.

Hi,

First go to the installation folder using window explorer manually. The folder where you installed  the program. 
 
Then Remove the uninstaller or any other folders located inside the particular folder. Then restart the system and run the installer again.
 
Hope you will be able to get your matter resolved on this process.

If you are trying to install Adobe Elements 10 but setup shifted to uninstalling the program and the process ended up with an error saying the “specified path is empty”, it means Adobe Elements is currently installed as indicated by the entries in the Windows registry. One reason why the path is empty is when the application was deleted from the “Program Files” folder either by accident or intentionally.

To fix the problem, first, check the system requirements again and make sure your computer meets those requirements. Adobe Elements 10 supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. It requires 1.6 GHz or faster processor, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB free space, 1024 × 576 minimum screen resolution, and Microsoft DirectX 9-compatible video card.

If your system seems compatible, download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo then select any previous version of Adobe Elements among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds.

This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then install Adobe Elements 10. On the other hand, if you don’t see Adobe Elements in Revo or uninstall failed, click “Forced Uninstall” instead then click “Browse for” on the next screen and select “Folder”. Navigate to the installation folder of Adobe Elements and select it then follow the instructions.

If this doesn’t work, try cleaning the registry. Download PC Tools Performance Toolkit and install it. Once installed, start PC Tools then go to “Performance” tab and click “Clean Your Registry”. On the next screen, click to start scanning your computer. When scanning is complete, click “Repair” to remove leftover entries in the registry. When it is finished, install Adobe Elements again.
