Access violation error while installing the latest version KMPlayer

Hi Pro,

I installed the latest version KMPlayer and whenever I try video files, error appears. I click ok and continue seeing the video without any interruption. I don’t understand the reason for this error. Do I need to remove the previous or old version? How will I correct this error? Anything related to registry? Help please.

Hello,

This problem is showing because of the problem of DirectX. A program is unable to access any memory because the memory address is being used by another program.

Just download the latest DirectX. Then install it. This will update the old DirectX if present or install a new, fresh copy of DirectX. Then try to run the program.

Also, depending on your hardware, you should download and install latest drivers for your PC.

I think you forgot to check the program’s supported operating systems because if you do check it before, you will know that Microsoft Windows 8 is not supported. The media player KMPlayer supports Windows XP Service Pack 2 and up, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. The program supports both x86 and x64 versions of all these operating systems.

For users running Windows 2000 Service Pack 4, the program has been tested to work although this operating system is no longer supported. If you have Microsoft Windows 8, you need to think of shifting to another similar program because your operating system is not supported. Though I’m not sure if it’ll work but there’s no harm in trying, you can try running the program in compatibility mode.

Open Windows Explorer, go to the installation folder of KMPlayer in “C:Program Files”, right-click on “KMPlayer.exe”, and select Properties. Select Compatibility tab, check “Run this program in compatibility mode for”, select any of the supported operating systems on the list, and then click OK. See image.

Try running the program and see if it works under compatibility mode.
