Could not run audio file using GraphEdit for DirectShow

I downloaded GraphEdit to create and test filter graphs for DirectShow application.

However, when I tried to run it with an audio file, this error message popped up.

I may have missed something and couldn’t point it out.

Can someone help me with this type of problem?

GraphEdit

Could not construct a graph from this file.

-Have you installed all necessary filters?

-Note that the ‘Render File’ menu option cannot render *.GRF files.

I’m not sure if you are using it right because GraphEdit is a graphical tool for converting videos. This tool will actually allow you to exactly see what is being converted to what format. And it’s a quite difficult tool to use. Since this tool is mainly used for converting videos, running it with an audio file will make it to open a file that is not supported and will result in error.

If you want to experiment with it with some file types, I think you should avoid running it with any audio files or else you might receive that error again. If you are using GraphEdit 1.0, this version supports Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
