Is it true that Facebook is scanning all our chats ? What they want to do by scanning all the chat history ? What will happen if they scan our chat history?

Dear Clarence L McNeil, I have read your query and would like to inform you that Facebook and other social networking sites are keeping an eye on users chat to minimize the risk of cyber as well as real life crime and to notify police of any suspicious activity.

According to a report, in March a child predator was trailed as a result of chat scanning. Facebook is implementing a blend of new technologies and user observation, so that they can keep an eye on criminals.

They use a scanning with the help of scanning software, which observes users chat for words and phrases, and determine if there is something fishy such as vulgarity and information exchange. This software is intelligent in its own way. As, if users do not know each other’s and have a wide age gap, the software will pay more attention. It also keeps an eye out for specific phrases. If it finds something off, it will notify Facebook team, who can determine if the police should be involved.
