The link between search indexer service and performance of your pc
If you are using windows 7 you might have come across a service called search indexer running in the background consuming a noticeable amount of the available memory percentage.
Microsoft has introduced that service in order to make search function in windows 7 accurate. But the main drawback is it consumes rather noticeable amount of available memory.
How to stop this service?
- Type services.msc in search bar and open it.
- Select windows search and click the stop button.
Now this service stops and you can see a noticeable improvement in your pc’s performance. However it’s not recommended to stop this service or completely uninstall it since it will stop the file indexing function in windows 7.
