Cluster is the collection of the servers which binds with each other and replicas of each other. Failover means if one server is down in the cluster, then through the request on another server.

Failover clusters provide high availability and scalability to many server workloads. When we run the failover cluster services on the server, then it creates the multiple replicas of that server, so if one of that server downs the automatically through the request of the client on another server.

If we have the server on which all the data of the organization are store. For example, It is the data server of the organization. If we required high availability of that data and if the server is down and we cannot create the backup of the server, then we configure the windows failover cluster 2012 R2.
