Windows7 Can’t Recognize Dell Component

I have two Radeon HD 5850 monitors.  I use one to primarily connect to a 24 inch Asus.

The HDMI is connected to the AV Receiver only for sound.  The other one is connected to a  22 inch Dell. The problem is that my Win7 (64bit) will not recognize the Dell component.

How should I solve this?  Did I miss something?

Hi,

Try to test the Dell monitor by disconnecting it from the video card. It should display something telling you that it is not getting any signal. If this is seen, try connecting the Dell monitor to the working video card and see if it works.

If it doesn’t, you most likely have a broken connector, the one that connects the monitor to the video card. If it does work on the working video card, then you need to check the other video card that you have as it is not working.

Thank you. Hope this helps with your current predicament.
