Hello TechyV,

My machine is in great danger. Yesterday all on a sudden I received an error message. I did not find such error earlier. It says, "c:WINDOWSSystem32svchost.exe". I have failed to close the error message. It is really an awful error message.

My machine is running with Windows XP. It appeared again and again. Have you any idea for the issue?

Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

"Svchost.exe" or Generic Host Process for Win32 Services is a part of Windows Operating System. This can’t be restarted or stopped manually. This manages system services run from DLLs. When system services are running like "Automatic Updates", "Windows Themes", "Windows Firewall", "Fax Service" and "Plug and Play" then there can be more than one of SVCHOST.exe sessions typically running in your pc. This is normal. But various worm malware programs also generate the same named files. The real file located in the path “C:WindowsSystem folder”. If it’s found in other places, then it is a virus, worm, spyware or Trojan.

To find such malware use free Svchost Analyzer (https://www.neuber.com/free/svchost-analyzer/)

Follow the steps in the Microsoft reference to get rid of the malware (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us?scid=kb)
