I used Windows Word Starter 2010 and I got a WINWORD.EXE error. The complete error message says “WINWORD.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created.” Is there any other way to fix this aside from reinstalling the software?

Please help. Thanks.

Hello Star,

Your .exe file is corrupted and need to be replaced. If you don’t want it to reinstall, find another pc that has Windows 2010 installed and copy its .exe file.

Here’s How:

1.       Right click on the shortcut of the winword.exe then choose open file location, then copy it on the flash drive replace your current winword.exe file. If it doesn’t work, Here’s another.

2.       Go to control panel, locate “program and features” then choose the Microsoft Office 2010 then choose at the top, you can see “organize, Uninstall, and Change. Choose Change. There should be another window that will let you choose what to do, choose “Repair” wait until it finish. Your office application should be running again. Else, you need to remove and reinstall your ms office 2010.
