There are not a lot of apps for windows 7 phone as compared to the apps for iphone or android.
But you will find the basic apps like adobe reader and youtube quite easily.
There are apps in development and microsoft is taking initiatives to encourage developers to develop for windows 7 platform. Most of the popular windows 7 apps are cross-platform (not platform specific) as windows 7 phone is not that popular at the moment. You can find many new games and apps on windows phone marketplace.

Windows Phone 7 Series is the official name for Windows Mobile 7 as with Apple’s iPhone 4 and iPhone 5. If you are accustomed to the user interface of Zune HD then you will be comfortable with Windows 7 phone. It has a slick, touch-friendly user interface. The screen displays large and colorful tiles that serve as the shortcuts to your most-used, favorite applications, and or websites.
The large, colorful tiles on the screen are live. This means that if the website or application is updated the tiles will also update on your screen. Windows 7 phone also features Zune Player and Xbox Live. If you're an Xbox owner and want to keep tabs on your friends' achievements, Windows 7 phones will come with a mobile version of Xbox LIVE games, Spotlight feed and the ability to see a gamer's avatar, Achievements and gamer profile.
