I have not even an idea of what indicates this error message, especially he (she) suggested some error in the authentication. I am sure very much that my user's name and the password are correct. This begun problem when to change my Internet service provider, but as I ask them that they said to me, not with my problem, So I checked my computer for any restrictions in my firewall, but nothing seems to indicate that the question. The only thing that I remembered that to change before this problem arose, my predetermined navigator (browser) was changed.

Hey there, I am JohnyGarcia

Here is a simple solution you can do to fix your problem regarding Windows Live Messenger, You simply need to modify a file using text editor. Here's how to do it:

  1. First, close all running applications, including Windows Live Messenger
  2. Go to My Computer
  3. In My Computer or Computer, go to C:windowssystem32driversetc
  4. In the directory, look for the file hosts and open it using Notepad or any text editor you have.
  5. In the file, go to the last entry and add in the following: 65.54.239.80 messenger.hotmail.com
  6. Save the file and restart your computer

Thanks for giving Detail information about problem.

  • It seems to be a problem with DNS resolution on some particular kinds of LANs.
  • Just browse to "c:windowssystem32driversetc", open the file "hosts" with Notepad and add this string to fix the error:
  • 65.54.239.80    messenger.hotmail.com
  • (I contacted WLM developers and they told me this will be fixed in final version).
  • you can finally sign-in again 🙂

Believe me this simple solution will solve your problem in minutes
