There two to three options in which you may solve this. First, you can delete the download package and re-download the installation file. Second, sometimes these errors occur due to the presence of security applications such as AVG or Norton. You can disable these during installation and enable once you finish installing your file. Third, you can manually change the permission of this file to this user. To do so, go to Start –> Run –> Installer

Right click on the Installer-> Properties

Click on the Security tab->Edit->Add

Now type the word System, and press Enter

Select System from the user names list and choose ‘Allow’ from ‘Full Control’ options.

By clicking on ‘Apply’ button, save the settings.

Now click on Edit-> Add. Type Windows User account.

Now select Windows User account from the user names list and choose ‘Allow’ from ‘Full Control’ options. Click on Apply & OK to save.

Restart your computer and try installing again

If you are trying to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable, that error can be caused by a problem with the installer or setup file itself or it could be a problem with compatibility. If you still have the installer, check the system requirements again and verify that your computer meets those requirements. Unfortunately, Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable is no longer available from the Microsoft website.

They no longer offer this version for download. In this case, just download a much higher version. Try downloading Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable instead. Download the version for your operating system from here:

You might also need to update Windows Installer to the latest for your operating system. To get the latest for your operating system, go to the Windows Installer 4.5 download page. Download only the version specific to your operating system.
