I am getting an error message. I don’t know what does it mean?

It’s a Spanish language. When I translate it through Google the error is “Windows cannot access the device or file access rule specified.

You may have the appropriate permissions to access the element pope”. You can see the actual error message in the attached image.

Please help me regarding this issue.

THANKS

Hello Robert,

This issue can occur when you don't have permission to the file, the file is moved or deleted, file or shortcut is corrupted, antivirus software is blocking the file.

Step 1 – Check for the Permissions.

Make sure you are an administrator, then check for permission of a file or folder. To check for the permissions, follow these Steps:

  • Right-click the file or folder, then click Properties.
  • Click the Security tab.
  • Click your name to see the permissions you have.
  • Click Edit, and then click to check the check boxes for the permissions that you need, and then click OK.

Step 2 – Check that the file has not been moved or deleted.

If the file has been moved or deleted then you will receive this error. Make sure file is present in particular locations.

Step 3 – Check if the file or shortcut is not corrupted.

If the shortcut or other file type is corrupted then you will receive this error. Check by recreating the shortcut.

Step 4 – Check if antivirus is not blocking the program.

Temporarily disable antivirus and check if you are able access the file.

Thank You.
