Windows 8.1 pro update error

Hello! I am a Windows 8 user and I was thinking of updating my OS to Windows 8.1 pro but I get the following message when I try the update "Cannot install Microsoft windows 8-1 pro error message 0x8244018" What kind of error is this and why is this that I cannot go for an update? Thanks in advance!

  1. There is an automatic troubleshooter that can fix some errors with a Windows update.  Click here to get the troubleshooter
  • In the file download box, click “Run”
  • Follow the onscreen steps from the Wizard
  • Open Windows update and try to re-install updates again
  1. Also try this:
  • Open Windows Update and make sure all available updates have been installed for your PC
  • Also make sure that all hidden updates are installed, but clicking on the “Restore hidden updates” link that appears on the left sidebar.  If any hidden updates are available, install them.
  • Restart your computer
  • Now you should be able to install Windows updates through the Windows Store
