Hi People,

When I try to extract Windows 7, files I get this error.

“The application cannot find one of its required files, possibly because it was unable to create it in the folder. Please make sure that the folder in which this application was downloaded is accessible and not read-only”.

Appreciate the help.

Windows 7 setup files extraction error.

Dear alijay,

Basically this error shows that there are some important files in Windows 7 and those are all very much necessary for the operation of Windows but some are not in a condition to work or might be unable to work now,or some of those files are now not available and are corrupted by some of the viruses or may be deleted by user.

So my friend the solution for you is that you can insert a Windows 7 DVD or if you have a setup there, then start that setup and then you will find  a word Repair Windows there, so press that button and then install it again.  It will surely remove this error from your computer.

Thanks.

Hi Alijay55

“The application cannot find one of its required files, possibly because it was unable to create it in the folder. Please make sure that the folder in which this application was downloaded is accessible and not read-only" this was your problem and we will stick on that, so that we will easily know the problem. One problem that your system found is the accessibility of the folder, here's how you will do it, to check:

  • Find the folder, the Right Click;
  • After showing the drop down menu, click the "PROPERTIES";
  • You will now be able to see the advance box;
  • If the check was found in the read-only, unchecked it and click the "APPLY" just below the box.
  • Then check if the system is still the same.

Hi there,

First thing is that You haven't specified any details of the application you are using. Its name, Version or anything like that.

Be specific when posting a problem here then only we can help you specifically I hope you get my point.

From the image I recognize that while unpacking the contents some of the files are missing. All you have to do is download the application again from the same location you downloaded and install again, If still same thing happens means.

Download from alternate sources like http://filehippo.comcnet.combrothersoft.com etc.

I hope you are clear and your problem is solved.

Good luck.

Hey Dear!

Do not worry about this problem. This error occurs when the setup files are corrupted. That is the reason you are facing this error. These files are not able to install Windows 7. The question here is, how to overcome this problem? The answer to this question is very simple. You just have to download the new working setup. When you will run the setup it will extract all the files that will work for you.

So, I just recommend you to download new setup. I hope it will help you in fixing this problem

Thanks

This is most definitely a corrupted setup file. Have you downloaded this particular file?, if so then please check if it is compatible with Windows 7, since many executables normally made for vista has compatibility problems sometimes when it is executed in Windows 7. The program may also have been in early stages development that is why the error is showing.If the file is truly is fully Windows 7 Compatible, re-download the file and run it again. If the problem still occurs then I strongly recommend reporting the problem to the company. They would be able to help you in sorting out the problem.
