To test your battery and see if that is the issue follow these steps:

1.  Remove the battery from your lap top.

  • To do this make sure it is turned off and unplugged from the wall and disconnect anything else attached to it.

2.  Turn it over.
3.  Slide the battery release latch towards the left.

  • The battery front edge will separate from the computer.
  • The front edge should be lifted and removed from the computer.

4.  Once this is done close the compartment and turn the computer back over.
5.  Plug your power supply back into the computer, make sure it is plugged into the wall.
6.  Power up your computer.

If your computer comes on and works this shows that you need to purchase a new battery.

Here is a link with several places to buy a new battery:   https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/Laptop-shuts-down-when-I-unplug-the-charger/td-p/6120795 .

I highly recommend that you only buy a HP batter and not an aftermarket no name one.

Hello, How are you? You can solve the problem using power management settings. You have to follow the following steps to resolve the problem:

Step 1 :Go to “display property” option.

Step 2 : Then select the screen saver tab.

Step 3 : Click on the “power” button option in the power schemes field in a drop down window.

Step 4 : Then select “Rixane Power Scheme”.

Step 5 : Finally, select “Portable or Laptop power” scheme. That’s exactly it.

Sometimes, wrong battery can create this type of problem.
