At the time I attempt to link Microsoft Outlook 2007 or 2010 to Microsoft Exchange Server, I see the 'exchange server unavailable' error. Â Why this?

Why Exchange Server is Unavailable in Outlook 2007/2010
This problem could be occurred if you client computer doesn’t have the configuration of a default gateway. You have to add the DWORD value in the DEfConnectOpts registry.
In Outlook 10:
-
Start-Run-Type regedit and press Enter.
-
Locate the following key and click the subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice14.0OutlookRPC
-
Select New from the edit Menu and click DWORD value.
-
Then Type DefConnectOpts and press Enter.
-
Right click DefConnectOpts and click Modify.
-
Type 0 in the value data box and click OK.
-
Exit Registry Editor.
