Why Default Hard Drive Always Be “:C”

In earlier days they were using a floppy disk. There are 2 different sizes of the floppy disk. One 5 ¼ and another one is 3 ½.

For 5 ¼ floppy disk, they were given the name of A and for 3 ½ floppy disk, they were given the name of B.

So for the logical reason only they were given the name of C for default Hard Disk if we want to change the name of “:C” we can change with permission of admin.
