I have Series 5 Samsung LCD and was wondering if there are Samsung series 5 codec for .mkv? Any kind of help would be appreciated.

The codec for .mkv files are not obtainable in the web. You have to use converting techniques for playing this kind of format. But it may less the quality of video.

In fact Samsung television support playing many types of videos via USB and MKV is one of these types that is supported, but why it does not work. When you try to play it you will see only video without sound. This as the sound encoded with the code of DTS which TV could not support it. So you have to change the encoding of these videos using programs like popcorn audio converter to have the format of AC3 that could be played.
