What is twisted-pair cable? And types of twisted-pair cables

Twisted-pair cable is a cable media which used for data transmission across the network.

As a name indicate twisted-pair cables twist two wires together to form a pair.

There are two types of twisted-pair cables using for networks.

Those types are unshielded twisted- pair (UTP) and shielded twisted- pair cable (STP).

UTP is the more common cost-effective solution for building networks.

STP is very expensive because it has an additional shield which provides additional reduction of interference.
