Hi,

What you are asking for can be easily got, and many websites provide this service, a sample list of these websites is the following:

These internet services will help you find out more than an IP address, you can even get the location of the IP you are looking for.

Also you can do with command line, which a text based administration interface, this can be done either in Windows OS or in Unix based OS or even in Mac, and just uses the command line ping.

Ping anywebsite.com

And it will help you get both your address and the address of the web site you are willing to connect to.

Hope this helps!

Thanks!

Hello,

Your public IP address is what other users on a network can use to access your computer. The public IP address is configured depending on the network that you are on. For instance if you are on a network and public IP address is 192.168.0.1 and there is another user who has the IP address 192.168.0.2, then that user can know the status of your network connection by using the ping command as follows: type PING 192.168.0.1 in the command prompt on their computer and then press enter.

Using your IP address also, a user can use remote desktop connection to access your desktop folders and work on them using the ~f rdesktop 192.168.0.1 command.

Hope this helps.
