In my sister’s laptop when we tried to start, it asked for windows update even it is windows 10. When I updated, it failed with the windows-10 upgrade assistant error 0x8007000d. It also failed when I tried to update with windows update. I have run windows troubleshoot but of no use. What can I do now?

When the files that are needed to run the update are missing this error occurs. Run a system file checker and restore the missing and corrupted files. Sometimes this error is fixed easily by using compatibility troubleshoot with the drivers. If this won’t help then try to reset the windows update components manually by command prompt. If nothing works then run a deployment image servicing and management tool which fixes his potential problems and corrupt files.
