What does Sun odf Plugin error 0 mean?

Hi, 

I just installed the Sun ODF plug in for Office. When launching Excel, I get the Sun ODF plugin error 0. What does this mean? I'm still on Windows XP 64 bit and Microsoft Office 2010. Thanks.

What does Sun odf Plugin error 0 mean?

Hello Elaine,

 

This is quite a common error. This is not an issue with the Sun ODF Plugin itself but rather it is with Microsoft Excel. To fix the error message this is what you should do.

 

Follow these steps:

1. Microsoft Office Button
2. Excel Options
3. Add-Ins
4. Manage Excel Add-Ins (GO)
5. Uncheck "Odfaddin"

In older versions follow these steps:

1. Tools
2. Add-Ins
3. Uncheck "Odfaddin"

What does Sun odf Plugin error 0 mean?

The Sun ODF plug-in for Microsoft Office allows users to read, edit, and save Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents to the ISO-standard Open Document Format or ODF. This plug-in is free to download from the Sun Download Center but sadly the Sun Download Center was decommissioned on July 31, 2011.

Fortunately, downloading the plug-in is not a problem because it is available for download on several websites. If you need to install the plug-in for use on Microsoft Office, try downloading from any of the following:

• Sun ODF Plug-In for Microsoft Office 3.1 – this download is from SoftSea.com
• Sun ODF Plug-In for Microsoft Office 3.1 – this download is from Softpedia.com

The plug-in is compatible with Microsoft Office 2000, Microsoft Office XP, and Microsoft Office 2003.
