When you need to send emails externally (to the internet) what is the next step that you need to advance to after having installed Exchange 2007? Thanks in advance.

Hello Birndict,

The story in Exchange 2007 is really different than the previous or older version of exchange. After you install exchange 2007 on your computer, you need to configure it manually so that you can talk or send email into the external world.  You need to make a connector by  using exchange management console(EMC) or Powershell. You can use any of those two that I mentioned to be able to solve your issue. Below is a link where you can read on how to use such connector.

Hello Biendict,

Unlike exchange 2003 that allows you to send the external on the internet right after you have finished the installation, in ms exchange 2007 you have to configure the settings manually to be able to set the emails to the external world. You do not need to configure any additional settings manually, since exchange 2003 used the simple mail transfer protocol to perform that function.

In exchange 2007, you will need to do a manual configuration so as to create  a send connector which could either be using powershell or the exchange management console.
