Hi Tibby Joehaz,

You have mentioned in your question you only need the name of the image editor software and you also know about Adobe family.

So, I will not tell you about Adobe Photoshop but this software is most popular.

The name of free image editor softwares is given below-

  • Gimp
  • Paint. NET
  • PhoXo
  • Funny Photo Maker
  • Photo Pos Pro
  • PhotoScape
  • IrfanView
  • PhotoFiltre
  • PixBuilder Studio
  • Chasys Draw IES

Above all these softwares are free.

You can know  more and download all of this by visiting a website which is given here–

Good day

Greetings Mr. Tibby,

You mentioned you already have Adobe CS6 which is best in the market. Besides Adobe there are many free softwares and also web-based photo editors available on the internet.

Here are some that you may find very useful:

Windows Live Photo Gallery

This application contains features like panorama joining, photo fuse, face recognition and all the basic tools along with the exposure, noise and colour correction.

Photo Plus Starter Edition is a free version of its software suite created by Serif. It contains basic and elementary tools to edit photos though lacks more robust features of the paid version.

Picasa is more like a slideshow creator and photo organizer than photo editor, but contains enough basic editing tools. The plus point is it contains many Google+ features as it is acquired  by them in 2004.

Online Alternatives

Pixlr.com

This online based editor is almost like photoshop. Eliminate those devil eyes by red eye tool, stain on a picture like  a coffee mug was rested on the photo and many more.

Fotoflexer Very advanced digital photo editor and packed with many features.

If you  want to edit photo without spending hours pouring  over thick manuals, Picnik may be your solution. Though  you can’t open photos directly from your desktop, still it is very capable photo editor. Picnic was acquired by Google in 2010. Now it can be found  in Creative Kit of Google+.

Like most other webbased photo editors Splashup gives you the tools, features, and effects you will need to get your photos looking professional. Many of the most basic tools the ones that get used most often are found on the tool bar that is located directly on Splashup’s workspace.

iPiccy site has automated the process to edit photos rather than using tools. Generally the effects are applied to the whole photo.

Fotor provides you simplified photo editing process. The site has an easy-to-use menu to edit your photos.
