Weird touch screen response in my Nexus 7

My Nexus 7 is behaving weirdly since the last update. Sometimes it behaves as if I pressed something, even though my hands were nowhere near that point. For example, when I am reading a message, the Nexus types a couple of letters, even though my hands were not on the keyboard. I don’t know if this is related, but it also seems to be lagging a bit more than usual. Are there some settings or some steps I can take?

Weird touch screen response in my Nexus 7

Hello Xavier,

Is this problem occurring while you operate it with AC charger on. This is mainly due to defective grounding in the power outlet, which allows noise in, causing the screen to act weirdly.

Alternatively you have mentioned that your problem has been noticed after an update, to rule out any bugs in the update, perform a factory reset.

Remember to backup data prior to resetting you device. If you see the symptom again, then it must be a hardware issue. If not, you can update your device once again and if the update applies itself properly this time.
