Hello, We are using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 for our drawings in the office and I am new to this kind of software.
I got curious and navigated the software. My colleague was then trying to open a client’s .dwg file when this error message popped up on the screen, see below. We wondered why this was happening because I knew I didn’t touch the coordinate system and why were they using coordinate system ‘XY-IFT’. Anyway, anyone who can help us get rid of this error which was always popping up every time we open the drawing?

Hello Cathy,
It seems that AutoCAD Civil 3D 2010 has some restrictions on the files and documents that you can create in it, especially when it comes to the coordinate systems.
You should try creating the drawing with an alternative or different coordinate system as opposed to the one that are using, may be it could solve the problem.
Otherwise, you can use to AutoCAD troubleshooter to find the possible solution to the problem and fix it. If the problem persists you may just have to uninstall AutoCAD and do a fresh installation so as to get rid of any settings that may have been altered and therefore resulting to the problem.

This is simple case of AutoCAD version either you are using a old version or you are running a file that is built in some other version of AutoCAD. So you need to do is to register you program first or reinstall it with a full version requirements. See for all the options that are available while installing the program and make sure that you full fill all the requirements for the program.
Such as check the system requirements and make sure that you have the minimum resources available to run the program and also try some other version of program. If you are getting a file from some other source then you need to see that in which format that file was designer.
Ask the person for this reason that what kind of version he is using as there are many versions of program available in market from which the 2011 version will be the most updated version. You can purchase that version of program to solve your problem.Â

There is a conflict among the files and the extension isn't well-matched with the files you have saved. When you are saving a file of Microsoft Office Visio 2003 is not compatible with the file extension of the AutoCAD which is .dwg example would be autocadsample.dwg
