My VLC media player is working fine usually.
However, sometimes when I play some videos it displays some error that won't allow it to play.
I was wondering what could have caused this kind of error?
In the image below, displays the common error I got when opening some video from my temporary folder.
Errors
File reading failed:
VLC could not open the file "C:UsersAcer 4743zAppDataLocalTempfla5ABB.tmp".
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'C:UsersAcer 4743zAppDataLocalTempfla5ABB.tmp'. Check the log for details.
VLC media player error when playing some files
Your VLC player is unable to read the file( videos or song) you played. It might because of your video format of those videos is not supported. Or, VLC might cannot find the path of the video or the song. Or, the videos is not complete or full. The video may be is not ready to use. It might have some problem. You should paste your videos rightly on your harddisk. Or, download the video or copy(from the source) perfectly. Or, if your videos are in unsupported format you should convert into the supported format. I think you have got your answer.

VLC media player error when playing some files
Good day! If cases such as this, sometimes the only reason for these errors are because of availability of the codec that corresponds with the file/video you are trying to play. In order for you to resolve this, download the codec needed for the file on the net and install it on your system. Then try to play the file again. But as I can see that what you are trying to play is a tmp file. tmp/temp files. As far as I know, tmp files cannot be played. These files are created by some programs to store some type of temporary files or data. And these are automatically deleted after the session has expired. I guess what you are trying to play has expired and what remains is the file corresponds to the actual file like videos, audios and etc.

VLC media player error when playing some files
In that screenshot, what you are trying to open is a TMP file (“fla5ABB.tmp”) which is obviously not a media file. VLC media player is designed only for media files and will not open any other file formats. That error is definitely not a problem with VLC media player because you opened a wrong file. Open only files that are supported by VLC media player.
If you are not using the latest version, download the latest VLC media player and upgrade your existing version. The latest version supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.x, and Windows 10.
Among the video formats supported include 3GP (.3gp), AMV (.amv), AVI (.avi), DivX (.divx), FLV (.flv), MP4 (.mp4), M4V (.m4v), MKV (.mkv), MOV (.mov), MPG (.mpg), OGG (.ogg), RMVB (.rmvb), WebM (.webm), WMV (.wmv), and many more. You can check the supported file formats by clicking “Tools,” “Preferences,” and then “Set up associations.”
