As your problem is, the HD Media Player has some criteria of playing things. As you say it can play video, audio, preview photos. But it dose not show up or play the video of mobile format. As far I know the HD Media Player plays the following video formats:

MPEG-4 (XviD)

MPEG-2 (VOB/ISO)

XviD HD

DivX HD

MPEG-1

AVC HD

TS/TP/M2T

RMVB Real Media

DivX

VC-1

M2TS

WMV9

H.264

None of above is mobile format. As for your information, video played on our phones are maximum time is formatted as .3gp. That’s why you are unable to play those videos.

My concerned advice for you that if you are eager to play those videos. Please convert it with any of the above mentioned format. And enjoy it.

Usually Video Phone Formats saves in .3gp, so it is very hard to play those videos in the HD media player. Rather it would be very easy to download VLC Media Player and its free of cost to download. Each and every video format are compatible to play in this Media Player. When you download the Video Formats into your local systems, right click on the video and select open with (choose other video options) and select VLC Media Player.

This way you can play any kind of videos, this software is accurate and secured Player.

Hope this one will work for you.

Hi Otis,

This is very common problem. The new video comes with different attributes that cannot be opened by the HD Media player.

The problem can be solved by downloading a software known as CODEC.

Codec are well defined audio/video standard which are used to decode audio/ video files.

Some video/audio are modern and they use certain codes that may not be installed in the personal computer.

When this codes are not available the video may not run at all or may not run properly.

Fixing the problem:

You need to install this codes

You may also install a media player that has this codes installed in.
