Hi,

I am using Windows XP OS Sp2 and got an error message when I attempted to start Hyper-V virtual machine.

The error displayed showing “’Lab-SharePoint’ could not initialize”.

I checked the memory is enough to start this app but I am unable to start the virtual machine.

Please provide some resolution to fix this problem as soon as possible.

Thanks for any help.

Hi,

It’s strange that you are still using Win XP, I would advise you to update to Vista with latest service packs or else go for Win 7. I believe you are using Hyper-V RTM old version.

Make sure you have enough space in the partition, where Hyper-V is installed. Assign default RAM sizes to your guest OS and enable NUMA in the settings.

Try increasing the Host i.e. Win XP ram size, just to check it (borrow ram stick from someone). Some alternatives to Hyper-V are virtualbox and Vmware, both have great features to manage VMs and RDP. Hope this helps.
