Hello expert, I want to play some AVI files on iomega screenplay plus. My iomega screen play plus is only playing mp4 files. My friend told me to update codes. By updating codecs on iomega how can I solve this problem? Is it possible way?

AVI is a container file. There are many codecs that can be used in an AVI. AVI file that plays on the Iomega Screenplay plus has MPEG-4 encodings in avi container (XVID) and MP3 Audio.
If you are trying to convert a dvd movie to avi then AutoGK (Auto Gordian Knot) 2.55 codec should be a good one. It will produce video in avi with Xvid codec which is very similar to divx.
The Fair Use Wizard is another good option.
