Hi Jimy,

The password of HDD which was integrated by their manufacturers is in a chip integrated on the HDD. That's why there is no way of unlocking your HDD password without using software that can bypass and change the chip's program. Some software that you might want to try HDD unlock wizard, MHDD which is a freeware, DBAN(Darik's Boot and Nuke) or any of those security-encryption data software such as Partition Magic and Active Kill Disk.

Hope this helps.

If you have several other hard drives that you want to use but you cannot because it is protected with a password, unfortunately, removing the password is not possible. When a hard drive is locked with a password, it means the entire hard drive is encrypted just like when encrypting files.

To unlock the hard drive and remove the password, you need the software that was used to lock the hard drive as well as the password. If you don’t know what software was used to encrypt the hard drive, there is no way to unlock it. But anyway, there should be no problem even if the hard drive is locked.

You can still format it and partition it again for use. To partition your hard drive easily, download EaseUS Partition Master Home on FileHippo. This is free partitioning software.
