I am running Windows Vista on my computer. I never had any problem using it but lately, I noticed that whenever I typed any words or sentences with question mark at the end of it, the output seems different. I am getting a letter e with a single line on top of it. What is causing this and how can I fix it?

Unexpected output when typing words with question mark
Hi Henry,
Try to replace your keyboard if it is okay or not, Keyboard problem can cause this even if you press nothing, it will type on it's own. If you have 2 computers you can try to test it on the other computer and see if there is the same error. If no error occur try to attach to USB instead of using the PS2 plug at the back of your computer, some PS2 malfunction especially if your wire is moving frequently. Where do you type your words or sentences? Is it in the Microsoft Word?, Microsoft Excel? etc. Kindly reinstall the program if the problem occurs on the Microsoft, please type in your notepad if it is okay, if there still a problem in notepad, then reinstall your Operating Systems. By following this steps i'm sure it really work because i try this kind of problem before and it fixed.
Thanks,
Tony Stevenson

Hello Henry,
What program exactly are you experiencing this kind of error with? Because you may be using windows vista but there could be a specific program on your computer that is bringing that error when you use it. For instance MS Word.
Once you have identified the program, it will be easier to work around. For instance if it is word, you will just need to figure out the changes you might have made to your system that are causing that issue and them eliminate them. Performing a system restore will be a perfect way to get rid of the changes that you might have made to the system that are causing whichever program that ir having those issues to malfunction.

That is maybe because your keyboard is set to a different language that uses accented characters. If you are seeing a letter “e” with a line on top, it is called “emacr” or “ē”. In web pages, we use without quotes “ē” to display the character properly. Now, if you are seeing this, check that you are using the right language for your keyboard.
To check, click “Start”, “Control Panel”, “Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options” then “Regional and Language Options”. On the next screen, go to “Languages” tab then click “Details”. In “Text Services and Input Languages” window, in “Settings” tab, under “Default input language”, select “English (United States) – US” from the dropdown list then click “OK”. This will configure your keyboard to use the Standard English language.
See if this works.
