Unable to start Web Deployment Agent Service Error 1053

We are utilizing MS Web Deploy for deploying websites. It works fine this morning but when attempting to install Web Deploy, it failes. Starting the service gives an error, "Windows could not start the Web Deployment Agent Service service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." I am running Windows Server 2008 64-bit SP2. How to fix this issue?

Unable to start Web Deployment Agent Service Error 1053

This happens if you stop or you try to pause a managed Windows service. Try to obtain the latest SP for MS .NET Framework.

How to get the Service Pack:

1. Get the .NET Framework 1.1 SP 1.

2. Get the .NET Framework 1.1 SP 1 for MS Windows Server 2003 x86.

3. Get the .NET Framework 2.0 SP 2.

You can also resolve this by uninstalling both the iis and the msdeploy. And then, restart your computer and reinstall it back.
