I need assistance in working with my Microsoft Excel worksheet. It just closes automatically every time I wanted to save it. I have no problems with the rest of my Microsoft Applications. It is only this Excel that is giving me headache. Help me. I don’t want to lose my files but I cannot save them. My computer drivers and software’s are up to date. I already installed Microsoft Office 2000 but it still didn’t work. I have repaired my Operating System already and it is still not working. Please send me any suggestions. Thanks!

Unable to Save MS Excel Files

This problem is recorded in 2003, 2007 and even 2010. The funny thing is this only happens only in Excel program savings. No their office program has this save/quit error problem. Reinstalling Windows and Office package does not solve this problem at all. If you have a Macro in Excel file, this problem may happen. This problem also happen if any plug-in is installed, and the plug-in is having conflicts with Excel program.

My suggestions are:
a) Disable the micro.
b) Rename it.
c) Quit all other program and just run MS Excel.
d) Uninstall all plug-in related to Office program.

Below are steps that current file could save as MSExcel add-in.

1. Select worksheet.
2. Click Insert, and click Worksheet. If none worksheet is found in workbook, add a blank new worksheet.
3. Choose File and Save As.
4. Type in a file name in File name box.
5. Choose Microsoft Excel Add-In in list of save as type.
6. Lastly Save.

Hope this helps.
