Hi,

I’m currently using Model 2.0.2 on my Ubuntu server 10.04 and have been attempting to connect my Dropbox account using the repositories. I can get the keys, set up the repository, login, view my files and folders in my Dropbox account but when I try to save a file after selecting it I get an error message saying "Can not read file, either file does not exist or there are permission problems".

I have given the Dropbox app full access to my Dropbox account.

How can I fix this error message so that I save my files?

Hello Theresa,

To resolve that issue, you might want to consider setting the permissions for the repository folder on your system to 777. See if that resolves the issue. If it does not, try the following workaround:

The problem could be occurring because you have the Dropbox folder on a FAT32 partition (this will be more likely if you have shared a partition between Linux and Windows). And because of that, some files are being synced as well as downloaded to the computer while the rest are getting the sync problem. To resolve it, you will need to move the Dropbox folder to the Linux partition – home folder.

Regards,

Carl
