I am using Sharepoint 2013 on my laptop with windows 7 OS. Sharepoint is very good, but I am facing an issue.
When I try to open word document or spreadsheet in that, it is starting to open, but in the middle it gets stuck and it will not open even after a few hours. I have tried restarting the system several times. I have installed all updates so that my system is up-to-date. Still no luck.
Any idea why I am facing this issue? Any suggestions will greatly be appreciated. Thank you all so much.
Unable to open Word or Excel in Sharepoint
This issue is present at other SharePoint 2013 users and it can be resolved very easily. The problem is from the new Microsoft Sharepoint Foundation that installs a new version that the Office suite is not aware of.
Follow these steps to fix the issue:
You can run a Repair on the Office 2013 suite to change the installation of Project2013. To do this, open the Start Menu and click on Control Panel. A new window will appear in which you must choose the "Programs and Features" option.
A list full of programs that you have installed will appear. Select the Microsoft Project Professional 2013 program and double click on it. A new window that will appear like the image below:
Select the Add or Remove Features option from the window and then click continue. A new window will appear with all the features of the respective suite.
From the list, disable the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Support option and then click on the Continue button. Wait until the process is finished and then reboot. Your issue should be fixed by now and you will be able to open any document in SharePoint.
