Hi! I have a problem. I am unable to format my FLASH DRIVE. What should i do? When I right click on my drive, the format option is set to be DISABLED. It contains virus because the files which are inside are very uncommon, with different characters. Is there any software available for formatting the drives?

  • GParted is a formatting tool that you can download from the Internet. Install The software on your computer and Restart your computer and browse "System: Administration: Gnome Partition Editor."

After doing this, plug in your flash drive and start GParted. Login with password information. Select the flash drive from the dropdown menu in the upper right window of the GParted software interface. The list contains all the storage hardware that are installed on your computer. Right click on the display of the drive icon and choose the "Format to" option along with the file system type you wish to format like FAT32, NTFS.

Hello,

If you want to format your flash drive make sure that its write protection is turned off. This error may also be due to the activities of the viruses that is in your flash drive (as you mentioned there are uncommon files inside it), try scanning it first with a very good and updated antivirus before you format. Or you can also try to "low level format" your flash drive using HDD Low Level Format Tool.

If none of this works, then your flash drive may be corrupted and you may need to purchase a new one.

  • Click “START” button, then “Manage”, and Click “format”. See attached files.
  • If that doesn’t work, try this:
  • Run it and wait for the prompt to finish, and try again to format.
  • If this doesn’t work again, then try this:
  • START>RUN>type CMD and enter, then type cd
  • After that, type the driver name example E:
  • then this,
  • attrib -s -h -r -a /s /d *.* enter
  • It will show you the content of your drive. Then you can now delete them after deleting format it.

CHEERS!
