Hi to all,

For the past few days, I am in the process of installing the MS CRM 2011, and as its pre requisite, I have installed the reporting server extensions. After installing it, I tried to create a new report, but could not succeed. Then, I tried to see the default views in CRM, but could not. On creating a new file, I got an error instead of the report wizard.

The screenshot of the error is as follows:

Microsoft Dynamics CRM: Reporting Error – Windows Internet Explorer

Reporting Error

Error occurred while fetching the data extension.

– Error Details: Error occurred while fetching the list of data extensions installed on the report server.

Try Again Close

The following log was determined by enabling the trace:

Stack Trace Info: [CrmException: Error occurred while fetching the list of data extensions installed on the report server.]

My application and database are running on 2 different servers in the same domain and I am running on SQL server 2008 SP2. The reporting services is being run using the domain server account and CRM services under network services.

Your suggestions are needed in this regard.

Kindly help me out in resolving the issue.

Waiting to hear from you soon.

Kindest regards.

It appears that due to some use earlier I changed the SSRS’s virtual directory.  To solve this error it is necessary to change the SSRS URL for the organization. This can be change in Deployment Manager Option. First disable the organization and update the SSRS URL and after updating the URL enable the organization. It works fine for me. I hope to it will work for you also.

You need to open the deployment manager and then remove your organization from there. Go to right hand side and then click edit organization. Update your SSRS Url virtual directory. Finally click next, next and finally click finish. Enable your Organization finally and you will find that your problem is solved.
