The meaning of Tweaking is to tune or adjust any electric device like computer. This term can also be used for small modifications for the purpose of system improvement.
This term can use for both, hardware and software, and the meaning of Tweak is different in both fields (Hardware and software).
If we talk about hardware, the process of modify the system, (like changing RAM, Voltage, clock rates etc) is called tweaking.
Now let us move towards the Software field. In softwares, Tweaking refers to tuning the system to improve its speed. Tweaking software reduces the burden of processes and maximizes the system speed. There are many software in the market that can be used for improving system speed and performance

Tweaking tools fine tune both the hardware and software depending on the type of application or tools used. Hardware tweaking is modification of clock rates, processing units, improving cooling systems, changing voltage, etc. Software tweaking aims at improving the performance of a particular application. It can be done either manually with the use of certain programmes or by using semi-automatic tweaking utilities used to increase the performance. It aims at increasing the usability and performance rather than the speed of the program.Â
