TMG Failed To Start After Windows 2008 Update

Hello,

I recently updated my Windows 2008 to Windows 2008 RC2 and upgraded my TMG 2010 node. After upgrade, I found that ISACTRL is not starting. What could be the cause of this problem? Is it the dependencies available in previous versions that were now updated when I perform an upgrade?

TMG Failed To Start After Windows 2008 Update

Hi there Ariel,

This particular problem has been well documented and the problem is rectified by doing the following windows registry modding.

1. Click on start menu, on the search bar type “regedit” and after the registry is opened,
2. Navigate to the following registry address
3. HKLM (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE) > CurrentControlSetServicesHTTP and
4. Create the following Multi-String value shown below DependOnService and
5. Enter CRYPTSVC in the value Data field and
6. Click OK
7. Sc confic isactrl depend= RasMan/SSTPSVC/FwEng/ISASTG/bfe/mpssvc/HTTP
8. Now again click on the start menu and on the search bar type “services.msc”
9. On the list search for “Exchange Transport service” right click then properties and set the start up type to Automatic (delayed start)
