Is there a Laptop battery life tester?

My last laptop's battery was damaged due to exhaustion. Now, I don't want it to happen again to my new laptop. Is there a Laptop battery life tester that can measure its capability? Thank you.

There is some freeware for you to test your laptop battery life.
