Symantec endpoint protection or SEP is one of the most effective and reliable
security solutions for the systems or servers in a network. It comes with sufficient virus protection along with advanced and reliable threat protection to secure computers against any known and unknown threats. So now to download and update your SEP’s virus definition automatically all you have to do is to select “Run LiveUpdate” option from the common tasks bar at the top-right side of the console UI as shown in the image below:-
After this click on the “Download” button at the bottom of the dialog box that appears next as shown in the image below
And after this, the automation update should start. Besides this, you can also use Symantec endpoint protection intelligent updater to manually download the virus definition updates. It is an executable file available on Symantec site. All you have to do is download the intelligent updater as per your product and then simply run it.It will automatically update the virus definition.
