Hi all

I found a problem “Symantec AntiVirus Error Code: 10”. I need to solve it. What is the reason behind this? Please help me.


Symantec AntiVirus Error

Symantec AntiVirus Auto-Protect could not continue. Please run LiveUpdate or reinstall Symantec AntiVirus and restart. (Code: 10)

Hello priscilla,

That error could be occurring because the installer you are running on your computer, or the updater is corrupt, and therefore you will need to do the following to resolve the issue:

  • First, try running the update directly from the internet as opposed to downloading the updater packages to perform the update from a directory.
  • The problem could be with the Symantec application itself, and therefore for the update to be successful, you will need to go to the control panel and uninstall the application, and then later on install it, and after that proceed with the update.

Make sure you have downloaded the correct and compatible version of Symantec.

If not please download the correct and compatible version for your operating system. And it will fix your problem.

Or you can reinstall your application using a newer setup file.
