I had a processor that malfunction due to power and I wanted to downgrade the processor to an Intel core i3, does the core process provide for compatibility with the core i5 for the processor? are there some features of the processor that are likely not to function? I want to be sure before I venture into this

Hello Robert,

I don't see any compatibility issues should you decide to downgrade. Processors need not to be compatible to each other. It's the motherboard that should be compatible with your processor. It's not likely to have an issue here since you're downgrading and motherboards are usually backwards compatible, as long as the same generation. I recommend that you check the specifications of your motherboard and see if i3 is on the list.
