Hi, error code 0xc00702e4 is known as AVG install error since we face it only during the installation process of AVG antivirus software. Also, the version (paid or free) does not create a difference as this error is being received from both party users. The two primary sources of this error are- the presence of similar colliding software or incomplete installation of some files. The following steps will help you to fix the bug-

  • On your PC, check for alike software such as Norton, Avast and other Antivirus software that might be conflicting with AVG software. If found, please uninstall these applications from the Control Panel.
  • If no such software is present, then the reason for encountering this error can be an incomplete installation of AVG files. Click on the link to download and run AVG Remover tool.
  • Select the AVG product software shown in the window of the AVG remover tool and then begin the removal process.

  • When the removal process is over, restart your computer.
  • On restarting, go to C drive in My Computer, select AVG Remover folder and delete it.
  • The above steps will completely remove all the files related to AVG antivirus software. Now, reinstall the software from this link .
  • After the download gets completed, click on run to start installation process.
  • Follow all the steps as you move ahead.
  • Restart your computer after the installation is complete. Hope this helped you to solve the error.

A lot of users are experiencing this problem. AVG support doesn’t seem to have a clear fix on this but there is one user who was able to fix error code “0xC00702E4” by running the installer as admin. So, if you already have the installer for AVG, right-click the installer or setup file and select “Run as administrator”.

On the other hand, if you are running the installer to update the existing AVG antivirus and you keep receiving this error, try to uninstall the program first. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo then select AVG among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo then restart the computer. After booting, right-click the AVG installer and select “Run as administrator”. You can download the latest version from here: AVG Free Antivirus.
